Sunshine Guild Lotto blocks

I read about Lotto blocks on Cathy's blog (Sane, Crazy, Crumby quilting) and signed up to make some for the sunshineonlinequiltyguild.

This month they're asking for 12.5" blocks using blue and yellow fabrics.
You make matching pairs, one to be used in a charity quilt, the other going into a pile of Lotto blocks, name drawn for the winner of those blocks.

I have made 3 pairs:

Log cabin style

Chinese Coin style, two pairs

 And one extra

I have used quite a few scraps and chunks for these blocks which I enjoyed making.

Posting the blocks to the USA tomorrow.

RSC: Making a start on pink

Not much time for sewing at the moment but I did manage to make 4 Roman Stripe blocks yesterday afternoon. I had a pile of 1.5" pink squares already stacked together in my tin and a set of cream strips cut to the correct size.  So handy to have them ready for the odd few minutes of sewing time.

Linking up with Scraphappy Saturday

I have been making solid colour 5" String blocks for a while but yesterday I made lots more including 6 blue ones.

I always look at Scraphappy Saturday's photos of the great and varied blocks people make using the colour of the month - for July it's blue, my favourite colour.

I have put all my Blue String blocks together this morning and here's a photo of all 24 of them.
